"Sound Pollution"

This Sunday Mr. Tim Good will be sharing the message during worship service entitled SOUND POLLUTION.  The words that we share with others can make a big difference in their lives, how they view others and their relationship with us.  Think about some of the things that you have heard in your lifetime and how it has shaped you.  Our words are just as important.  But let's hear how Tim shares the message with us.  Join us on Sunday at 10:00 a.m..  ALL are welcome!

NOTE: This year, our summer worship schedule continues through the end of September. In other words, we continue to have one worship service at 10:00 AM on Sundays, September 16th, 23rd, and 30th.

Woodridge UMC is an open and loving United Methodist community striving to be:

Welcoming to all;
Uniting in service toward greater social justice for all;
Moving forward with understanding and acceptance of all peoples;
Creating disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Our purpose is to offer a safe place and community to all races, cultures, religions, genders, sexual identities, ethnicities, age groups and other beliefs.

"Bishop Dyck's Prayer Request for Chicago"

In worship this past Sunday, we shared part of a prayer request from our Bishop, the Rev. Sally Dyck, for Chicago as police officer Jason Van Dyke is on trial for the murder of Laquan McDonald. ACTIVE SHOOTER TRAINING

In response to interest, the Northern Illinois Conference is providing free online training addressing an “Active Shooter” situation.  The framework of the course being offered to Conference churches focuses on the nationally recognized methodology entitled ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate). The objective of the course is to authorize and empower individuals with the tools necessary to increase survivability during a violent event. Each church is allowed access to the online ALICE training module once on a group basis. The group should include church pastoral staff, ushers, and church leadership. It is not intended for the membership at large.  Each NIC member church is encouraged to complete the Active Shooter training by December 15, 2018. If you would like to be included in WUMC's group, please contact the church office.
