"Ruth: The New Order"

For what do you want to be remembered?

Better yet, for what do you want to be known right now

Through the disarming, romantic, funny, inspiring tale of Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz, the author of the book of Ruth offers answers to these essential, existential questions.

  • What answers does the book of Ruth provide?
  • How do those answers connect with the rest of the biblical story?
  • How might those answers help us live more fully into the Way of Jesus in 2018?

With Ruth Chapters 3 and 4 as a guide, Pastor Dave will offer thoughts on those questions in his sermon, “Ruth: The New Order,” as our series on the book of Ruth concludes this Sunday, September 9th at 10:00 AM.

NOTE: This year, our summer worship schedule continues through the end of September. In other words, we continue to have one worship service at 10:00 AM on Sundays, September 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th.As always, all are welcome at WUMC!

Woodridge UMC is an open and loving United Methodist community striving to be:

Welcoming to all;
Uniting in service toward greater social justice for all;
Moving forward with understanding and acceptance of all peoples;
Creating disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Our purpose is to offer a safe place and community to all races, cultures, religions, genders, sexual identities, ethnicities, age groups and other beliefs.

Blue Front Door Lights in Honor of our First Responders

Mayor Gina Cunningham, the Woodridge Friendrasiers, together with the support of National Title Solutions of Woodridge, are asking Woodridge residents to turn on a blue front door light in honor of our Police, Fire and First Responders as we observe 9-11. We will be proudly distributing Blue Light Bulbs for your Front Porch Light the weekend of September 1st, 2018 at our area participating Churches (we have a limited number of bulbs which are on a first come basis). If you don’t have a blue light you can put up a blue bow. Please show your Community Spirit and say THANK YOU to our dedicated Police, Fire and First Responders. Please use the light bulbs September 8th through September 11th.

Woodridge is Proud to stand united in blue together! Thank you!

If you are a Woodridge resident and would like a blue light bulb for your front porch we have a few left, please stop by the table in the narthex and pick one up.

Each church is allowed access to the online ALICE training module once on a group basis. The group should include church pastoral staff, ushers, and church leadership. It is not intended for the membership at large.  Each NIC member church is encouraged to complete the Active Shooter training by December 15, 2018. If you would like to be included in WUMC's group, please contact the church office.
